Botanical Art (Prints and Digital)

The creative process for this series began with nature itself. I hand-printed leaves, petals, and botanical elements using acrylics, capturing their textures and individuality. These raw imprints were then digitally transformed—layered, repeated, abstracted—into modern, vibrant compositions. Each piece is an invitation to pause and notice the quiet beauty that’s already here.

Revolve features a graceful star-leaf pattern in rich purples against a deep plum background. This piece celebrates geometry found in nature — where simple botanical forms create meditative patterns. Revolve brings a sense of calm, balance, and sophisticated beauty.

Luminescent is a collection of colorful curves and swirls that move and flow together. Light glows from within and turquoise water flows along as the overlapping colors and textures create unexpected patterns and shapes.

When I look at a flower, I often inadvertently overlook the leaves that are instrumental to its growth. Inspired by the overlooked, I wanted to highlight this leaf veining. Current is slightly fuzzy and distorted, the dark background allows the focus to remain on the smaller more vibrant image.

In Ablaze, I wanted to explore the contrast between colors, and how the organic lines would complement each other. The leaves almost seem to move. Ablaze reminds me of a pinwheel being spun by a child.

Reflection began as a flower picked from my garden, which was then printed before being further designed on my computer. The vibrant yellow and the flower reflected in the background evoke the glow of dazzling sunlight that brightens and brings a sense of renewal, warmth and joy.

Awakening is a vibrant collection of reds, oranges and yellows. The paint sprays off the flower on a swirly, dream-like background to bring a sense of movement, joy and hope. It is a reminder of the beauty of life, the resilience of the human spirit and the connection between all things.

The sunsets near my home have an almost ethereal quality to them, creating a glow unlike anywhere else I’ve seen. Day’s End is a vibrant explosion of color inspired by these sunsets. The warm coral, yellow and pink hues stir feelings of tranquility, serenity and joy.

Sprout is an expression of growth and the power of new beginnings. Representing a sapling, it's brown stem appears delicate and groundless. This piece speaks of hope and resilience even in the face of uncertainty, of reaching for something greater and of beauty that can be found in fragility.

The unexpected colors and tall silhouettes in Blades create a sense of reaching to new heights. This piece also reminds me of a breeze blowing through the yard on a warm, dark summer’s night
